Rob Taylor, Founder

Meet Rob
Rob is the ‘T’ of L&T and founded the business in 1986 with his father-in-law, the sadly missed legend Eber Lloyd. Since its formation Rob has been involved in all aspects of driver training and specialises in the ALLMI crane courses that we deliver. His philosophy is to ‘make things as easy as possible for the candidates’.
Malcolm Lloyd, Partner

Meet Malc
Malc is the L of L&T. When Malc was 14 his dad Eber and brother-in-law Rob set up L&T. Malc became involved as soon as he could and driving became his passion. In the early days he specialised in Bus Cat D training, Malc is now an ADR specialist but loves all aspects of the business. Malc is our Module 3A and MOD 4 assessor. He is particularly proud of our team both on the road and in the office and their professional friendly approach.
Jo Lloyd, Operations Manager

Meet Jo
Jo is named ‘The Chief’ by the others, Jo likes to think it’s not because she is bossy (though it may well be). Jo is married to Malc and came to the business 19 years ago to help for a couple of weeks (but they couldn’t get rid of her). Jo loves meeting new candidates and helping them achieve their goals gives her job satisfaction. Jo says, “I work with a great team of people and hope that our enjoyment of our work passes on to make the candidates’ experience easier”.
Anne Illidge, 'Office Angel'

Meet Anne
‘Known as the ‘Office Angel’ When Anne joined L & T 12 years ago, she brought with her a great work ethic and a sense of fun. Anne passed her CE in 2012 she did this to understand what the candidates have to go through. Anne says, “Working at L&T is like working with your family everyday”.

Kris Rymer, Trainer

Meet Kris
Kris joined L&T after completing his Cat CE with us. Kris’s background in coach driving has been a great asset to L&T as he is a real people person. Kris enjoys all aspects of training and gets great job satisfaction from seeing candidates achieving their goals.
Ian Cragg, Assessor

Meet Ian
Having joined the Army on leaving school, Ian was part of the first deployment of tanks to Kosovo which tested his driving skills to the limit. After 10 years of driving in the military in various operational environments Ian then drove commercially before coming to L&T. He gets job satisfaction from helping candidates achieve their goals, and one of Ian’s passions is boxing, in which he is an official for the British Boxing Board of Control. In his spare time, he enjoys taking his son Jake to watch Hull FC Rugby League. Ian finds his job very rewarding.
Richard Outram, Trainer

Meet Richard
Richard joined the L&T team 2 years ago as a Sub Contractor specialising in the delivery of CPC Periodic Training. Richard’s background is in road transport. He began his career as a traffic clerk in a tanker company 30 years ago. He graduated to being a planner until in his mid 20’s realised that drivers get paid more than planners! After taking his ADR he spent many happy years driving tankers carrying chemicals all over the UK and Europe.
In 2007/8 he was part of a driving supply convoy with the US military in Iraq until he married and decided to leave the road behind him and returned to office life for a UK fleet of a French owned tanker company. He now enjoys training new licence acquisition and classroom CPC training. In his spare time, he enjoys walking the footpaths of Huddersfield and spending time with his wife and young daughter.
Keith Megson, Trainer

Meet Keith
Keith came for a driving assessment 18 years ago and we wouldn’t let him go (or couldn’t get rid of him) depending on who you ask! Keith is an invaluable member of our team and loves to pass on his knowledge to both candidates and new instructors. His ADI background and experience in running his own business gives him great understanding of all aspects of training. Keith’s ethos is ‘to give all candidates the tools to achieve their goals’.
Andy Peel, Instructor Trainer

Meet Andy
Andy has been a great addition to our team on joining us 3 and half years ago. Andy’s ambition as a child was to become a cowboy “Dick West’. Instead, his first job was as a milk man at the age of 11, Andy’s illustrious career with the IAM as a Road Smart Masters Mentor has been a great benefit to L&T and his motto is ‘How can I help you to learn?’ Andy is now our Instructor Trainer and thrives on passing his knowledge over to new team members.
Steve Ainge, Trainer

Meet Steve
Steve joined L&T from a background in the RAF where he worked as a Mechanical Transport Driver working as far afield as the Falklands. He is enjoying the challenge of training new drivers on the Fast Track CE courses that we offer. Steve enjoys snooker and football in his spare time.
Martin Covill, Trainer

Meet Martin
Martin can blame Steve for his career at L&T as he has known him since he was a “Little Lad”, having joined L&T following a successful career in LGV driving. Martin’s career in driving gives him an insight into what challenges new drivers will have to face. Martin loves hill walking, his motorbike, and can’t wait for the weather to get better and get out there enjoying these hobbies.
Mark Kenny, LGV Instructor

Meet Mark
Mark joined L&T as an LGV instructor in 2021. His Career in LGV driving brings a knowledge of the career his Candidates are looking to go into and makes him a compassionate tutor. Mark has settled into the team and enjoys working with the candidates to achieve their goal. In his downtime, he enjoys walking his dogs and spending time with his family.
Kaz, Resident Doctor

Meet Kaz
Kaz is our resident Doctor who will be one of the first people you meet when you come for your medical to start your process to become a professional driver, or when you come for your medical renewal. Kaz enjoys meeting the variety of candidates and starting them on their journey. Kaz enjoys attending boxing matches in his spare time, in a professional capacity.
Jo Fisher, Instructor

Meet Jo
Jo Joined L&T in 2015. Her background as an ADI (Car instructor) is a real bonus to L&T and she brings a no-nonsense approach to the job, along with a passion for nailing the basics. Jo enjoys dog walking and bee keeping in her spare time.
Laura Mason, Administrative Manager

Meet Laura
Laura joined L&T 6 years ago on a two-week trial, but she was so good she was made a permanent employee within a few days! Laura is our Administrative Manager, where she deals with all aspects of training. She is also our medical co-ordinator who will help you when you start the process with us. Laura enjoys the family atmosphere at L&T and meeting new people. In her spare time Laura enjoys caravanning with her family.
Wendy Hargreaves, Administrative Assistant

Meet Wendy
Wendy joined L&T early in 2022 as an administrative assistant. Wendy’s job includes answering customers initial enquiries and booking medicals and CPC courses. Wendy enjoys meeting new people and learning new skills. Wendy enjoys baking in her spare time so check out her Facebook and Instagram ‘Kayceys Bakes’.
Fiona Dalton, Administrative Assistant
Meet Fiona
Fiona Joined the team recently and works from home answering calls to L&T as demand for our services increased. She enjoys answering candidates enquires and helping people start their journey with L&T. In her spare time Fiona enjoys going to the cinema and walking Tommy, the miniature Dachshund.
