‘Trucker Anne’ is founder member of L&T Transport Training Services Tattoo Club
Passing her L&T LGV training Class 1 lorry driving test was a big moment for Anne Illidge of Ackworth, near Pontefract.
So big in fact that Anne decided to commemorate the event in a very special way. She had a tattoo showing the date that she passed her test and the registration of the vehicle that she passed in.
“I’d always wanted to have a tattoo for my 50th birthday and when I passed my test it seemed to be the ideal time to commemorate both. I had my son, who is a graphic designer, incorporate the registration number into a tattoo of my Gemini birth sign”, she says.
Anne, who is employed by vehicle training business L&T Transport Training, based in Fitzwilliam, west Yorkshire, also managed to obtain the registration plates of the lorry when the fleet was upgraded. As well as her tattoo, she now has these as a souvenir.
Now the idea has caught on and L&T has another member of their ‘Tattoo Club’!
Now Dean Joins The Club!
Barnsley truck driver, Dean Moxon (42), had a tattoo to celebrate passing his Class 2 and Class 1 tests.
‘Transformers’ character ‘Optimus Prime’ is pictured on his tattoo, with the registration numbers of the heavy goods vehicles Dean drove for his LGV training. These are located above and below it.
Dean comments: “I have had tattoos since I was young and this gave me the perfect reason to get a new one. I didn’t know L&T employee Anne Illidge had a tattoo to celebrate her test, so it’s great to be part of this club”.
As well as vehicle tests, Dean successfully passed the HIAB Lorry Loader and Slinger Signaller test and the ADR qualification at L&T’s Fitzwilliam site. The latter allows him to handle and transport hazardous goods. He has also recently sat a Driver CPC with L&T Transport Training Services.
Dean continues: “L&T helped me in many different ways and I can’t speak highly enough of them. They speak my language and everything they do is straightforward. They are a great bunch of people who go out of their way to help you.”
L&T business partner, Malc Lloyd, says: “It’s important to us that all our vehicle test candidates have a very positive training and test experience. The Tattoo Club is just part of making this important personal event extra special.”
