Driver Training Starter Package

Our driver training Starter Package is the point where your journey with L&T Transport Training Services begins. It contains everything you need to be able to start your driver training course to obtain your lorry or bus licence.

The first thing you’ll need is a LGV or PCV Provisional Licence. To obtain a provisional licence, a medical is required. We have a doctor on site to conduct medicals on a Tuesday or Saturday morning.

Once completed, the medical form and accompanying forms will be sent to the DVLA. We can help with the completion of the relevant forms to ensure that these are filled in correctly. If any mistakes are made when completing the forms, this will cause delays in the return of the provisional entitlement.

To study for the theory test, we will arrange an online study package from our theory study partners DTS Anytime. This package enables users to practice theory and hazard perception on most devices including mobile phone, iPad and PC’s whilst keeping track of your progress.

All candidates will need to take a Hazard Perception test and a Multi Choice theory test. You might also need a CPC case study (module 2) test. This test forms part of the Driver CPC requirement. To find out if you need one of these tests, please check out our Driver CPC page. 

When your provisional licence has been processed and returned to your home address, the appropriate theory test can be booked. Then, when you’ve passed the theory test, we can arrange your driver training and test.
