Category C (Rigid) Training
To obtain a LGV rigid (Cat C) licence, you must meet the following criteria:
- You must be at least 18 years old
- You must hold a full car licence (Cat ‘B’)
You then need a provisional Cat ‘C’ licence and to obtain this, a medical will need to be undertaken. The licence application, along with the completed medical form, is then sent to the DVLA at Swansea.
The next stage is to take and pass the theory and hazard perception (hp) tests. When you attend our training centre for your medical, you will be supplied with a theory book, if you haven’t already got one. Theory and hp tests can only be booked upon receipt of the provisional entitlement and not before.
Once again, we can take the hassle out of booking your theory and hp tests, as we have tests pre booked up to a month in advance, so one can be allocated at a convenient time and place.
After successfully completing the theory test, a free driving assessment can be taken, enabling our instructor to establish what training is required. The training will then be tailored to suit your own needs. We operate 7 days a week and have practical tests pre booked so training can be arranged around the driving test.
Rigid training (‘C’) can be undertaken in the AXOR.
